This is not to be confused with the animated show The Real Ghostbusters, which is based on the 1984 film Ghostbusters. Columbia Pictures have acquired the rights to the name of Filmation movie, and after Ghostbusters hit, Filmation went into production with an animated series based on characters from the series. Series is technically called simply "Ghostbusters", but the home video release the name of "Filmation's Ghostbusters" to avoid confusion.
